We are committed to be a carbon net-zero organisation by 2030 via the UK Business Climate Hub. You might not expect that acoustic consultants can do much to influence the sustainability agenda.
However, we consider net zero embodied carbon solutions as a top priority in all our designs (natural ventilation, specialising in CLT and timber builds, refurbishment before new build, natural/recycled acoustic finishes).
Our research and projects take an active approach to inclusion and equity to address the wellbeing elements of sustainability. For example:
- Improving inclusive acoustic design in schools by carrying out research and CPDs at an international level
- Research to evaluate  quality of life and health effects of the Heathrow Noise Insulation Schemes
- Evaluating the TfL Urban Bus Sound (AVAS) in the urban realm for people with visual impairment
- Developing a vibro-acoustic sound table for sound therapy, wellbeing and good mental health, an increasingly critical issue for people working in the construction industry.
