Vibration Assessments

As residential and commercial developments are increasingly built near railway lines, gymnasiums and other vibration sources, building designs need to account for the control of vibration levels which can be disturbing to occupants.

We support you by measuring and assessing levels of vibration that may be a risk to your proposed development and help you incorporate measures that effectively reduce vibration in accordance with BS 6472 and other relevant standards.

How we do it

Consultation

We work with you to gain a full understanding of your proposed development, the nearby vibration sources, what your goals are and how we can help you achieve them.

Set design requirements

Depending on the type of the development, we outline the relevant design requirements for vibration levels to comply with BS 6472 and other technical guidelines.

Vibration survey

We undertake manned vibration measurements at suitable site locations to identify the entry vibration level into the future structure

Analyse and advise

We assess and estimate the level of vibration and noise exposure for the proposed structure then advise you of any planning/or design risks and offer advice on suitable mitigation solutions.
If required, we can also review proposed vibration isolation measures to confirm they are fit for purpose.

Vibration Report

On completion of the assessment, we will provide a technical report summarising our assessment including any necessary mitigation measures required for the proposed development to comply with the relevant vibration criteria
