Deaf Rave Festival 2023

What a fantastic day at the  Deaf Rave  festival last month organised by Rich Mix. Rich Mix is a charity which welcomes the communities of the world in East London to create, enjoy and share culture. Deaf Rave marked 20 years of championing Deaf creatives with a day-to-night festival.

The festival showcased deaf performers of sign songs, sign rap, and dance, visual vernacular, poetry, and BSL storytelling.

Emma Greenland  and  Caroline McKinlay  thoroughly enjoyed the activities and meeting the community representatives who participated. We supported the children’s activity zone which included workshops in arts, crafts, face painting, drumming, and our own good vibrations!

Emma’s tactile sound table was a hit with a number of the deaf children, and it was great to see them returning several times to take a turn on the keyboard.
