As an employee-owned conscious business our mission is to apply our professional environmental skills for a better future. The company is run for the direct benefit of the employee-owners and all profits are therefore reinvested into our people and the local economy.
As a result of our collective outstanding performance in the last financial quarter (July-September 2023) we were able to make significant donations to three of our chosen charities. These comprise the two homeless charities that we have supported for about 5 years:-
The Clock Tower Sanctuary, Brighton, local to our Brighton office, supports the young homeless.
The Manna Society, local to our London Bridge office which provides much needed food and support services to the homeless and vulnerable.
And a third charity, The Elizabeth Foundation, recommended by one of our Trustee Directors Eduardo Manzano Fontecha, that provides education services to children with all degrees of deafness.
Lovely to hear how much these donations have meant to each charity:-
“The Elizabeth Foundation is absolutely thrilled to have been awarded a donation by Anderson Acoustics; thank you so much! Of course, we share the values of Anderson Acoustics – recognising that out expert staff and volunteers make an incredible difference to our beneficiaries, just as your team makes a difference to its customers, to each other and to the wider community. Vitally we share understanding around acoustics – with our young deaf children benefitting from classrooms and shared spaces designed and fitted with sound in mind, giving them the best opportunity we can to learn to listen and talk.
As a charity with no government or NHS funding, providing the optimum facilities for good listening, communication and learning is no easy task in a challenging fundraising environment; all the improvements to our facilities and the direct services we deliver, are only made possible through the generosity of those who support our outstanding work. Whether through donations, sponsorship or collaborating in longer term projects and contracts with us, we are incredibly grateful to everyone in a position to make that positive difference.” Miss Karen Vaughan, Deputy CEO
“Thank you so much for the additional donation, we are so grateful. The Clock Tower Sanctuary has its impact ceremony taking place on the 23rd of November and would love for you to be there to see the difference your donations have made!” Helen Foster, Data impact & Operations Officer
“Many thanks to Anderson Acoustics for your very generous donation to the Manna Society. Your donation and ongoing support is greatly appreciated and essential to the continuation of the services we offer here to some of the most disadvantaged people in our society. A breakfast, a hot, nutritious meal and washing facilities are available 7 days a week, Housing & Welfare Advice (in two formats) five days a week, a clothing store once a week, three medical surgeries weekly and access to computers from Monday to Friday. On an average day we see about 120 people. Approximately 40% of our service users are rough sleepers, 10% in secure socially rented accommodation and the remaining 50% in some form of temporary accommodation (hostels, friends & privately rented accommodation) – April 23 statistics. In addition to the services mentioned above, we offer a place of respite and acceptance.
Due to a combination of staff shortages and a sharp increase in the demand for our housing advice service, we are unable to take on any new housing advice clients for the foreseeable future. Despite being one worker short, in September, our Housing & Welfare Advice team worked with 137 clients and carried out 251 advice tasks (e.g. providing benefits advice, finding accommodation, sorting out ID etc). We are hoping that the new advice worker will begin with us in December. We are only able to continue to provide these services thanks to your support.” Paddy Boyle, Manna Society Administrator
Our Director Joseph Baggaley reflects ‘I don’t really have the words to describe how excellent this is and how much it means, its just a great moment for our wonderful business. We encourage all our employee owners to consider charities that mean something to them and propose how we might help them in the future’.
