The health and safety of our employee owners is of paramount importance to us. Yesterday, our consultancy team took time out to attend Personal Safety and Lone Working training delivered by the Suzy Lamplugh Trust.
A full day course designed to raise awareness of risks our staff may face while lone working and give them the tools they need to minimise these risks. Very grateful to Joanna Austin for working with our team on this. The day reaffirmed that we’ve got good safety protocols in place and it provided insights to further enhance overall safety when working alone.
The training session looked at:-
>Lone working – the law and the responsibilities of both employer and employee
>Risk assessment – identifying and assessing risk related to all aspects of lone working
>Tracing systems – ensuring staff are traceable and procedures are put in place in case of emergency
>Travelling safely – practical tips for relevant modes of transport
>Home visits – best practice for safety while conducting home visits from leaving the office to leaving the visit
>Understanding aggression – including recognising the early warning signs of aggression
>Conflict Resolution management – including physical and verbal de-escalation and defusion techniques
>Post incident support – reporting and the responsibility of employer and employee
