We are so proud of the support we are able to give to local charities that directly touch the professional and personal lives of our employee owners. This week we held a cheque presentation event at our Brighton Office with Siobhán Collier from Amaze Sussex, a non-profit organisation that supports families with children and young people with special eduactional needs and disabilities in Brighton & Hove and East Sussex.
The charity was recommended by Jacqui Thompson who works in our Community Engagement Team. Jacqui’s son was diagnosed with autism and adhd in 2018 and the charity helped her navigate through the overly complex process of accessing the right professional interventions for his educational and health care plan (EHCP) and ultimately a place in an educational setting that will meet his needs.
Upon hearing her charity had been chosen, Jacqui reflected: ‘what a wonderful opportunity we have as employee owners to recommend how we can utilise a percentage of our profit share and invest back in to the community in this way and for causes that are so dear to us. This charity is so important to me and the work they do is, as their name suggests, amazing and so vital for the hundreds of families and children who they support.’
