As with the FA Cup Tournament, it is all in the scheduling – allowing plenty of time in between matches for the team to rest and train. 12 days clearly wasnt enough for Anderson Acoustics FC who did their best but didnt come away with the silverware from this year’s Acoustic Cup, hosted by Campbell Associates.
In the group stages we beat Cahill Design Consultants 3-0, with Doushiant Mohith scoring along with our ringers John and Antonio – reinforcements and mates from school that Doush brought in! We then drew with Pliteq (UK) 0-0, with Elliott Bains sustaining a sprained ankle seeing him out of the tournament. We then lost to John F Hunt Group 0-2.
We came 2nd in our group and played Stansted Environmental Services Ltd in the quarter finals of the cup – the game finished 0-0 and as everyone knows penalty shoot outs are tough and we got beaten, 3-2.
Going out at Quarter Finals is not too shabby however so we will take that.
Well done to John F Hunt Group, cup winners and it was due to sheer talent that saw the hosts come runners up (we concur no fixes here!)
Back to the day job now and time to heal, hone our skills on the pitch and get a smarter football kit for 2025!
