Women in Construction Week: 'Level Up. Build Strong'

This month’s Women in Construction Week encouraged us to ‘𝐋𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥 𝐔𝐩. 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠’, leading into International Women’s Day on Sunday 8 March and its theme, ‘𝐆𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐆𝐚𝐢𝐧’.

At Anderson Acoustics, we’ve taken the opportunity to look at how we support women across our business and where we can continue to improve. Women make up 25% of our staff and associates, strengthening our team in every area. They represent 40% of our management team, 75% of our Community Engagement team, and 65% of our Business Support team.

We actively seek to improve representation across under‑represented groups. Our structure enables women at all levels to take on Employee Owner Trustee roles, building early boardroom experience and supporting future leadership pathways. Flexible hours and hybrid working are standard for everyone, helping all carers to balance work and life equitably. We also continue to focus on gender pay parity. While large construction companies typically report gaps of 12–32%, our average median difference is below 5%, following steady improvement over the past five years.

A huge thank you to the brilliant women in our company: Emma Greenland, Caroline McKinlay, Megan Samuel, Karen Lobo, Jacqui Thompson, Bethany Whittington, Nicole Porter, Antonia Hinds, Lasairfhiona (Lasy) Lawless and Maria Graham. Your contribution strengthens our company every day.
