Demolition Dust Risk Assessment & Dust Management Plan
Demolition works have a high risk of dust emissions, particularly during structural break-down and material processing. We prepare DRA and dust management plans following IAQM guidance, typically they are required by a planning condition.
Our DRA are site-specific and focused on practical dust control, ensuring compliance without unnecessary operational burden.
Our dust risk assessment service includes:
- Review of demolition activities, duration and sequencing
- Identification of sensitive receptors and site constraints
- Dust risk classification (low, medium or high risk)
- Definition of appropriate mitigation and control measures, including a dust monitoring regime, if required by the dust risk identified.
- Preparation of a Dust Management Plan based on the identified dust risk
Demolition Noise, Dust & Vibration Management Plan
To manage the impacts of demolition works, planning conditions are often imposed for a DMP or DEMP. We prepare Noise Dust and Vibration Management Plans (NDVMP) following BS5528, IAQM and other guidance to form part of the DMP or DEMP. Some local authorities have their own templates for completion with the NDVMP forming an appendix and we also provide the text for the matters of noise, dust and vibration for completion of the template.
A typical NDVMP includes:
- Summary of relevant planning conditions and consent requirements
- Identification of sensitive receptors and site-specific constraints
- 3D Noise model, calculations and assessment of significance and implications for Noise Insulation and Temporary Rehousing
- Vibration risk assessment
- Dust risk assessment and management plan
- Noise, dust and vibration criteria and trigger levels
- Mitigation measures and best practicable means
- Monitoring strategy, including locations and alert thresholds
- Action plans for exceedances and complaint response procedures
- Roles, responsibilities and reporting protocols
