Yesterday, Anderson Acoustics FC took part in the Fairview New Homes Football Tournament which, this year, was organised in support of The Nightingale Cancer Support Centre.
The day saw us reunite with Will Rowe, thanks for helping the team’s numbers! Great effort Pau Santamaria Piñol, Doushiant Mohith, Elliott Bains, Robert Harris-Marshall, Megan Samuel, Luc Retour and Will, we salute you.
You went up against 39 other teams and battled valiantly. We were in a challenging group with some decent teams. Managed to score first in our first two games against Fairview (4-2 defeat) and Island Boys (4-1 defeat). Then we managed to secure a win against QPS FC (3-1), to eventually lose in our last game of the group stages (4-1) against The Hornets.
Slightly less competition when it came to scoring the beers and burgers after however so happy ending.
We will be back supporting the next Tournament with stronger knees! Oh and this Match Day also served as good practice ahead of the Acoustics Cup in two weeks time – onwards and upwards to the back of the net.
