International Way, Stratford

Background

Anderson Acoustics was commissioned by Staticus UAB to review the performance of the proposed façade specification for the project at International Way, Stratford, London.

A mixed-use development of 380 homes, alongside office and commercial space positioned adjacent to Stratford International station.

The proposed façade was to be formed of lightweight opaque panels and glazed units supported by a unitised aluminium façade system. The purpose of the review was to demonstrate compliance with the Client and Design Team project acoustic requirements or indicate necessary measures to rectify non-compliance risks.

What we Did

Our review was based on a desktop study of available laboratory test reports, comparable systems and calculation techniques.

Working collaboratively with Staticus some enhancements to the system were agreed to ensure compliance with vertical flanking requirements, whilst the system as originally proposed was deemed sufficient to meet both horizontal flanking and external sound reduction requirements.
