We are honoured to be able to support the work of Auditory Verbal UK and to know that our donations are helping support more deaf children to learn to listen and speak.
Auditory Verbal UK wants all deaf children to have the same opportunities in life as their hearing peers. It supports deaf babies and children whose families want them to learn to listen and talk to access Auditory Verbal therapy – a robust, evidence based, early intervention approach. Last year they supported 92 families through their Family Programme.
Rian is one of the many children AVUK has supported. When he was first diagnosed as deaf his parents didn’t think school with hearing children would be possible. Today, Rian is thriving – chatting and laughing with friends, playing football, and confidently speaking in class. Please do watch his moving video and feel free to share.
