Developed by Emma Greenland PhD BEng MIOA, the vibroacoustic tactile sound bench combines cutting-edge audio technology with the natural resonance of live edge wood. Designed and hand-crafted in the UK to support purposeful and immersive listening, for sound related therapies and musical experience.
Benefits of Tactile Sound and Vibroacoustic Stimulation
Traditional audio is delivered through air vibrations hitting the eardrum. Tactile sound adds four more dimensions:
Deep tissue movement
Skeletal joint movement
Tactile stimulation
Bone conduction
This multi-pathway approach allows everyone – including people with hearing loss – to experience music and sound in a new, profound way.
Who Can Benefit from Tactile Sound Technology?
Tactile sound bridges the gap between traditional audio and physical sensation, creating an inclusive, multi-sensory environment. Our bespoke vibroacoustic solutions are designed for:
Wellness & Spa Retreats: Enhance meditation and relaxation treatments with deep-tissue sound resonance that promotes physiological calm.
Special Educational Needs (SEN): Providing a powerful sensory tool for d/Deaf children and adults with hearing loss or other sensory processing needs to 'feel' music and speech.
Healthcare & Therapy Centers: Aiding in vibroacoustic therapy (VAT) to help reduce stress, manage pain, and improve sleep patterns.
High-End Residential & Immersive Cinema: Transforming luxury living spaces into fully immersive environments where sound is felt as much as it is heard.
What Makes the Tactile Sound Bench Special?
Immersive Experience: The bench lets you feel music and sound vibrations throughout your body, offering a new dimension to listening - ideal for relaxation, emotional regulation, creative inspiration, and deep therapeutic work.
Huge power, no noise pollution: Experience massive sound without damaging your ears, or your neighbours’ patience! You don’t need huge volume to feel fully immersed in the music when it’s tactile. Vibration isolators optional.
Sustainable Craftsmanship: Hand crafted from individually selected, sustainably sourced timber for optimal resonance and beauty. Rustic, natural tonewood for a comfortable, non-clinical feel, to connect your experience with nature. The Sound Bench is available in three beautiful woods, each offering its own unique tactile sound journey: Oak - grounded, balanced and rich in resonance; Yew - warm, responsive, and deeply immersive; Cedar - light, vibrant and beautifully expressive. While the technology remains the same, the character of each wood subtly shapes how vibrations travel through the bench, creating a distinct sensory experience.
Inclusive Design: Whether you’re neurodivergent, are d/Deaf of have hearing loss, or simply seeking a richer connection to music, tactile sound bridges the gap between hearing and feeling. The tactile sound bench provides an alternative way for individuals to engage with music and audio. Inclusivity and accessibility are central to our mission, ensuring everyone can connect with sound in a meaningful way.
Highest quality with full-range tactile transducers (5 Hz - 17 kHz) capture the richness of tactile music and audio, from deep bass to high strings and voice, all in one standalone system.
Who Is It For?
Therapists & Wellness Practitioners: Enhance your practice with a tool that supports deep listening, breathwork, and emerging psychedelic assisted therapies.
Artists & Musicians: Experience your music in a new way and connect with audiences of all abilities.
Community Groups: Make music and sound therapy accessible to everyone, including d/Deaf and neurodivergent participants.
You! Find relaxation, inspiration, emotional regulation and wellbeing through immersive sound, in the comfort of your home.
Beyond its therapeutic applications, this innovation is also an exploration of the soundscape - the blend between our physical surroundings and our ow unique ways of perceiving them. By connecting art, design, and wellbeing, the tactile sound bench invites us to reflect on how sound doesn't just fill a space, but shapes how we feel, connect, and experience the world around us.

An exceptional piece of design that offers an interactive, immersive experience through vibrations, allowing users to feel sound. Craftsmanship and innovation are at the heart of this product. Inclusivity and accessibility are central, providing an alternative way for individuals, especially those who are deaf or hard of hearing, to engage with music and audio through tactile sensations.
It was a wonderful experience meeting with you and your team yesterday, and to try out your sound immersion table which has great potential. We all have that opportunity to engage in listening. That isn’t about deafness, or hearing, it’s just an act of doing
Laying down on a table and abandon myself to the various tones of a jazz track was a sensational vicarious experience. I felt that I was just few meters from the stage and Herbie Hancock was playing the tune just for me.
Unique experience, very relaxing and grounding… the vibrations were so intense that made me feel like I was myself an instrument being played!
Enormous thanks for the pleasure of using the Sound Table which to me was like a SoundCraft – it was one of the best listening sessions I have ever had and I felt like I was on a Spacecraft to SoundTown!
This was a truly bone tingling experience that allowed me to encounter sound in an immersive and mindful way - it was remarkable
Thank you SO much for coming to join us on Saturday - it was amazing to experience the tactile sound bench. Such a visceral and relaxing way to experience sound physically and not just aurally.
Once again, thanks for letting us experience the bench. I’m quite inspired by this idea and how it overlaps with our research and my paediatric clinical work. It would be fascinating to test the effect of adding the vibration cues in cases where it seems the cognitive load is reduced by increasing the number of complementary cues.
Deep listening on the tactile sound bench has opened doors for me to release repressed feelings and pay attention to my mind/body connection. The joy of deep listening lies in following thoughts, images, and feelings naturally, leading to curiosity and revealing deep personal insights.
Thank you so much for coming in with your amazing furniture, such a great experience for us... Really got us thinking about how sound can be experienced in different ways! It was such an eye-opening experience, allowing a glimpse into a whole new way of experiencing sound. I see this as being a super powerful tool allowing narrative and emotion to be expressed to an audience that potentially was traditionally limited to predominantly visuals when watching tv or film.
The tactile sound bench is a deeply immersive way to experience sound and vibration throughout your body, offering a whole new dimension to listening
As an interior designer focused on sensory luxury, I am constantly looking for ways to move beyond what we see to what we physically experience. Emma’s work in Vibroacoustic Therapy (VAT) represents a paradigm shift in how we approach the home environment..from the aesthetics to the somatic.
The Experience:
With an eye patch and a weighted blanket on, and beautiful soundscapes immersing through headphones, I lay on the oak bench and felt low-frequency vibrations coursing through my body. It wasn't just shaking, it was a deep-tissue resonance that felt like a cellular massage. In minutes, I felt my body soften into a deep grounded, restorative Theta state.
The Vision:
The human body is an exceptional conductor of sound. By integrating this technology into holistic therapy centres, residential homes, even schools, hospitals and workplaces, we aren't just adding a ‘feature’; we are installing a biological off-switch for stress.
From neuro-inclusive schools to high-end residential sanctuaries, it’s time we started designing for the Somatosensory system.
A huge thank you to Emma Greenland at Anderson Acoustics for the journey. The future of luxury isn't just about the view…it's about the vibration.
I took 5 mins out from the madness of the day & before our Panel took place. I have never done anything like this before so didn't know what to expect. I just relaxed as much as was possible with the outside noise of the DJ's playing outside and let myself feel the full affect of the bench. With the beautiful music playing and then the incredible vibrations alongside, I was only on there for around 5 minutes but it must have really struck a chord with me as it drew raw emotions to the surface and I felt tears running down my face. I was on there for longer the next day and after that session, I actually was bawling!! Think it brought something magical out in me and is part of a healing process I'm going through after losing my partner. Something amazing happened and I think those tears needed to come out! I'd recommend anyone to try the sound bench or book this amazing team for an event because it was a truly memorable experience for me - both times!!!
I loved my experience on the sound bench. The music felt like it was moving through me in a way I couldn’t experience just listening alone. Felt like a sonic massage
The sound bench was an incredible experience. Giving the opportunity to listen deeper and give a moment where you could pay attention to the body and the different sensations that arose as the music developed. It took listening to music to a new level as well as really helping me to engage and absorb in the moment which is such a lovely thing to be able to do when daily life can feel busy and rushed. It's one of those things that you have to try for yourself to understand the feeling, I highly recommend it.
