The growth of any airport must be sustainable and at Malta International Airport, the need to manage environmental impacts whilst still allowing for economic prosperity for the island was recognised.
Using modelling software, Anderson Acoustics developed a noise management strategy that supported the airport’s environmental aims. Following the balanced approach principles set out by the International Civil Aviation Organization, we were able to control the scale of Malta’s impacts by developing appropriate measures. This could be used by the airport to manage and mitigate their aircraft noise using an implementation programme which we developed.
